Beliatta bound Jaffna Weekend Special train derailed today (2019/09/15) around 13:40 near Maho Junction Railway Station. Luckily only one compartment of the second powerset damaged due to the derailment.
Front powerset left Maho after about 1 hour and 30mins with all the passengers. A team of Railway workers restored the second powerset and cleared the Norther rail track after a few hours.
