Gazette Issued Declaring Sri Lanka Railways an Essential Service

An extraordinary gazette notice has been issued by President Maithripala Sirisena declaring Sri Lanka Railways an essential service starting from 2019/10/03.

Railway strike which launched on 2019/09/25 by railway trade unions continues for the 8th consecutive day although Miniter Harsha de Silva tweeted that the government is making good progress on solving salary anomalies.
