Sri Lanka Railway Departments says that the daily income of newly opened Beliatta Railway Station has exceeded the daily income of Rs. 500,000.
Railway Department is expecting a revenue increase in the next few days as they are planning to operate 11 special trains on 20, 21 and 22 April for New Year season
The Railway Department’s Superintendent (Transportation), ADG Seneviratne said the Matara and Beliatta stations even ran out of the tickets and a new stock of tickets had to be issued for the two stations.
