A new Intercity Express train from Maradana/Colombo to Beliatta will start its service from 17th September 2019.
Service launch date postponed to 24th September 2019
The new train will reduce the journey duration between Colombo and Beliatta and at the same time, it will serve the increased passenger demand in the Coastal railway line.
The train will stop at,

- Ambalangoda
- Hikkaduwa
- Galle
- Weligama
- Matara
- Beliatta
